My husband the hero

Have you ever heard anyone say "it's in their blood"? I never really understood the depth of that statement until I met my husband. My husband Travis has been a firefighter since he was in his teens. His fire career started as a volunteer and has now evolved into a full blown full time job. He loves his job with every inch of his being. It is his passion. It is in his blood. It has been his dream since he was a little boy. Well it seems all of his passion and hard work have paid off. Travis was nominated for a local hero award. He got a phone call this week saying he was chosen for the award!! He was so happy it brought him to tears. I am so proud of him. Travis gives one hundred percent to his fire department and the people he serves. When those fire tones go off his adreniline starts pumping and there is no stopping him. I have learned over the years to just let him go. He is no use untill after the call is over. I have also learned not to plan much because everything can change by the ringing of fire tones. There is going to be an award ceremony at the end of the month. The only bad thing about this amazing news is I have to sit in front of everyone at the ceremony, beside my hero of a husband. Ahhhhh but then again it is a great excuse to buy a new outfitt. Before I go I would just like to say thank you to my wonderful husband for making me the wife who is married to a hero. Goodnight and god bless.

Answered prayers

The power of prayer continues to amazing me. It is so moving when a prayer is answered. My best friend kacey has a little boy who is two months old. His pediatrician had some concerns over a lump on the babies head. They ran some tests along with a cat scan. Fortunatly everything came back normal. It turns out that they have nothing to worry about. I know that there were many prayers sent their way. Not only prayers for the baby but for Kacey and Miguel as well. In thier difficult time of uncertinty, prayers of comfort and faith were much needed. As I spoke with Kacey this morning I could hear our prayers had been answered. Faith has prevailed! I thank the Lord for the power of prayer and my growing faith, for he never ceases to amazing me. May he continue to grant us with tiny blessings. Amen
